Miller Gray is proud to announce that President and Co-Founder Rachel Gray, MA, CFM, has been named a finalist for the Austin Business Journal’s 2026 Women in Business Awards, recognizing her leadership and impact within the Central Texas business community.

More than 160 women from across the region were nominated for this year’s awards. The 25 finalists were revealed during the August 21 luncheon at the JW Marriott Austin, with 10 women ultimately named 2026 Women in Business Award winners.

Rachel’s path to leadership has been anything but traditional. After beginning her career in the nonprofit sector, she transitioned into civil engineering in her late 30s and went on to co-found Miller Gray in 2014. Today, she leads the firm’s operations, strategy, and client relationships while fostering a culture centered on trust, mentorship, professional growth, and meaningful service to the communities Miller Gray serves.

Her commitment to developing others extends beyond the firm. A past President of SMPS Austin, Rachel remains active in the AEC industry and throughout the Central Texas community, including service with Shalom Austin Women’s Philanthropy, the Austin Community Foundation Women’s Fund, Shoal Creek Conservancy, and programs supporting historically underutilized businesses. She also volunteers with STEM-focused outreach efforts that introduce young women to careers in engineering and infrastructure.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized alongside so many accomplished women making an impact across Central Texas,” Rachel said. “My own career path wasn’t traditional, and I’m grateful for the people who encouraged me to take chances and step into opportunities along the way. That experience has shaped how I lead Miller Gray today. I’m incredibly proud of what our team has built together, and I share this recognition with them.”

The recognition comes during an exciting year for Miller Gray, which was also named a 2026 Austin Business Journal Best Place to Work - a true reflection of the people-first culture Rachel has helped build.
