- Project Details:
To support future growth and connectivity for Lake Travis ISD, Miller Gray led a design-level hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for the proposed Vail Divide Bridge over Little Barton Creek. The bridge, a key transportation link between SH 71 and RM 3238, provides primary access to Bee Cave Middle School and other campuses. Miller Gray developed detailed watershed models under both existing and fully developed conditions and sized the bridge to safely convey the 0.2% annual chance storm event with adequate freeboard. The team also evaluated floodplain impacts, coordinated with Travis County and the City of Bee Cave, and identified easement and mitigation strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and long-term resiliency.
In parallel, Miller Gray provided civil engineering services to certify a high-hazard detention dam at the existing Middle School campus. The dam, which collects runoff from the athletic field drainage system, required certification to meet TCEQ standards. Our team prepared the full certification package, addressing both stormwater detention and water quality requirements to protect downstream ecosystems while supporting continued campus operations and expansion.
